About DS3

The Data Science for Developing Scholars in Down Syndrome Research (DS3) was created as a training program to increase data sciences expertise across the INCLUDE Project and in the Down syndrome research community.

Mission

Our mission is to advance data science literacy in the Down syndrome research field by raining Down syndrome scholars through an immersive, hands-on data science and bioinformatics course.

Vision

We envision a growing community of researchers that leverage data science and bioinformatics to drive discoveries that will extend the lifespan and improve the health of all people with Down syndrome.

About The INCLUDE Project and the INCLUDE DCC

In 2018, the NIH launched the INCLUDE (INvestigation of Co-occurring conditions across the Lifespan to Understand Down syndromE) Project to study the critical health and quality-of-life needs of people with Down syndrome and their families. Increased research efforts focused on Down syndrome and its co-occurring conditions led to the creation of the INCLUDE Data Coordinating Center (DCC) to accelerate research that benefits individuals with Down syndrome by facilitating access and analysis of data from cohort studies of people with Down syndrome.
